"We will vote against it. I have no doubt in this. If the resolution gains nine or more votes, it will be vetoed," he said.
In his opinion, the resolution will be adopted in no way. Churkin also expressed hope that the authors of the idea - Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Ukraine - would not put the document to a vote.
According to him, if the proponents still dare to submit the resolution for consideration of the Security Council, they will assume the "political and practical responsibility for the consequences."
Churkin believes the document to be "an obvious attempt to create another hotbed of confrontation that could have very far-reaching consequences for international relations.".............
