The EU risks strengthening Britain's tension with Brexit due to the promulgation in the coming days of a document with five rigid positions, including the British's obligation to solve the Irish border problem.
This is reported by The Guardian, which has a new document.
According to the document, Michel Barnier, the EU's chief negotiator, calls on the UK to develop a "solution" that will make it impossible to create a tight boundary that will guarantee peace on the island.
It is reported that the "Irish document" is one of the five to be published by the European Commission in the coming days.
Each document focuses on the UK-EU exit day on March 29, 2019. In addition to the Irish question, it includes:
- a requirement for Britain to pass a law on "permanent protection" of special products, such as Parma ham and feta cheese, as well as French burgundy-Spanish coffee. Brussels wants to protect British pennies after Brexit over 3300 food and beverages.
- ensuring that any goods transported on a Brexit day are subject to the jurisdiction of the European Court. In fact, British companies and the British government are subject to fines in Brussels for breach of EU VAT legislation and customs regulations.
- warning the government that it should guarantee the EU's data protection standards for classified EU documents. If not, the EU wants these documents to be erased or destroyed.
- Ensuring that there is no discrimination between EU companies that carry out public infrastructure projects that have begun before Brexit.
Earlier it was reported that Prime Britain is ready to pay the EU 54 billion euros for Brexit.
