Facebook announces new tools for fighting cyber-squatting

The social network Facebook has announced new tools for fighting cyber-bullying.

This is stated in the official report of the social network.

In particular, users will be able to hide or delete multiple comments at the same time in the publication options menu. It is also noted that the social network begins to test new ways to find and block offensive words in the comments.

In addition, Facebook introduces a new way to alert others about bullying and offers the ability to challenge harassment and harassment decisions.

Yes, user friends will be able to report bullying and intimidation on behalf of the victim through the menu above the post. Facebook will review the publication to which the complaint will be received and determine if it violates the company's community standards.

In social networks, they said that this option was added because some people feel uncomfortable reporting their own abusive or ill-treated.

"Everyone deserves a sense of security in Facebook, and it's important that we help people who are facing hooligans and harassment on the Internet. We know that our work never ceases when it comes to people's safety, and we will continue to listen to feedback on how we can create better tools and improve our policies, "said Antigone Davis, Head of Global Security at Facebook.

The social network also promises to improve the protection of public figures from persecution and bullying.

"Earlier this year, we expanded our policy to protect against the persecution of young public figures in Facebook. In the coming weeks, we will continue to expand our policies to better protect public figures from ill-treatment, regardless of age. For example, heavy attacks that directly affect the public will not be allowed within the framework of a new policy, "the statement said.

On October 2, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved in the first reading a bill number 8584, defining the notion of "boiling" and introducing administrative responsibility for it.

Recall that in August 2018, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine launched an information campaign # StopBilling , aimed at children and their parents.

In 2017, in Ukrainian schools, there were about 109,000 appeals to psychologists on harassment. Psychologists were treated by both students themselves and parents with teachers.

According to the organization "STUDENA", 63.9% of teachers faced the persecution of children in their class.

Facebook said hackers did not use stolen logins on third-party sites

This was  reported by Reuters.

"We have analyzed third party access during our hacker attack. The study did not find any evidence that Harry had access to any Facebook application, "said Guy Rosen, Vice President of Security on Facebook.

Recall that on September 28, Facebook announced a hacking attack that has hit at least  50 million users  worldwide. Another 90 million people have been advised to take security measures.

The company says it found a mistake on September 25 and only 3 days later began its own investigation. Facebook hoped that they would be able to figure out how "an error was used and who".

It was reported that Facebook may be fined $1.6 billion because of the data leak of 50 million users.

Recall that on August 2,  the Security Director of Facebook resigned. Alex Stamos called the three years of work "a very difficult period." Now he will teach at Stanford University.

The activities of Hermosa were previously criticized in connection with a scandal with Cambridge Analytica, which illegally accessed the data of about  87 million  social network users and could affect the election of many countries in the world, including the US presidential election in 2016, as it worked on a presidential campaign Donald Trump

Zuckerberg  acknowledged the mistakes  of the scandal regarding the use of personal data. Facebook has blocked access to any services for Cambridge Analytica.

The founder of Facebook has  lost more than $5 billion through the data stream of 50 million Facebook users.
