Facebook for the first time blocked Russian accounts for collecting personal data

Social network Facebook for the first time blocked in Russia more than a dozen accounts that were suspected of illegal collection and analysis of user data

It is noted that the accounts were linked to Social Data Hub. So, Facebook sent a letter to the company's registration address in Ireland requesting the immediate cessation of data collection and analysis. Facebook also requires the social network to provide by October 12 a list of all the information used and all the clients who had access to them, including government agencies.

The letter indicated that all data collected on Facebook should be destroyed.

Facebook has also blocked more than 66 accounts, profiles, pages and applications of Social Data Hub, which previously compared itself with Cambridge Analytica.

"The removal of pages is due to the fact that the company was engaged in scrubbing (technology of analysis and receipt of user data - ed.), Which is a violation of our user agreement " the message says.

It is noted that the founder of Social Data Hub Artur Hachuyan also runs the Fubutech company. He led the department of cybernetics of the advertising agency " Apostol " Tina Kandelaki by 2014. Both companies have the same team of 62 people.

Both companies are collecting, processing and analyzing data. Social Data Hub performs commercial orders, and Fubutech is public.

In The Chancellor's comments, Khachuyan took responsibility for how public authorities dispose of the data.

And in comments to RBC, he claimed that he would file a lawsuit against Facebook in the event that the social network does not resume accounts.
